On the written requisition of a Secretary to [the [State] [The words the Provincial Government were substituted for the Word Government by the Adaptation of Indian Laws Order in Council.] Government], the Commissioner may at any time undertake the execution of any work certified by such Secretary to be urgently required in the public service, and for this purpose may temporarily make payments from the municipal fund, so far as the same can be made without unduly interfering with the regular working of the municipal administration. The cost of all work so executed and of the establishment engaged in executing the same shall be paid by the [the [State] [The words 'the Provincial Government' were substituted for the Word 'Government by the Adaptation of Indian Laws Order in Council.] Government] and credited to the municipal fund.

On receipt of any requisition under sub-section (1), the Commissioner shall forthwith forward a copy thereof to the corporation, together with a report of the steps taken by him in pursuance of the same.
