- For the purpose of such inspection and examination, the Commissioner may cause the ground or any portion of any drain or other work exterior to a building or, with the approval of [the Standing Committee] [These words were substituted for the words 'the Member-in-Charge' by Maharashtra 27 of 1999, Section 103, (w.e.f. 23-4-1999).], any portion of a building, which he shall think fit, to be opened, broken up or removed:

Provided that in the prosecution of any such inspection and examination as little damage as can be shall be done.
