- The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (hereinafter referred to as the repealed Act) is hereby repealed.
- Notwithstanding the repeal of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986,—
- any rights, privileges, obligation or liabilities acquired, accrued or incurred under the repealed Act shall not be affected;
- any notification, order, rule, regulation, instruction, direction or guideline issued under the repealed Act, shall continue in force, in so far as they are not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, until they are repealed by the notification, order, rule, regulation, instruction, direction or guideline issued under this Act;
- any case pending under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 shall stand transferred to the appropriate Commission or Forum under this Act and shall be disposed of accordingly;
- any action taken or any investigation or enquiry instituted, or any application, appeal, or revision filed, whether admitted or not, under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, shall not be affected and every such action, investigation, enquiry, application, appeal, or revision, as the case may be, shall be disposed of, continued, tried and dealt with, under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, as if this Act had not been passed.
