Whereas it is expedient to provide for certain matters relating to fisheries [* * *] [ The words " in the Provinces " omitted by A.0. 1950.];

It is hereby enacted as follows:-

The Act has been extended to-the New Provinces and merged States by the Merged States (Laws) Act, 1949; Tripura and Vindhya Pradesh by the Union Territories (Laws) Act, 1950; Goa, Daman and Diu by Regulation 12 of 1962, Section 3 and Schedule Goa is now a State, see Act 18 of 1987, Section 3 (w.e.f. 30-5-1987). Pondicherry by Regulation 7 of 1963.

The Act has been repealed in-Madhya Pradesh by the C.P. and Berar Fisheries Act, 1948 as amended by M.P. Act 23 of 1958; Rajasthan by Rajasthan Fisheries Act, 1953; Bombay area of State of Maharashtra by Maharashtra Act 1 of 1961; Hyderabad area of the State by the Hyderabad Act 22 of 1356 Fasli; Manipur by Manipur Act 1 of 1992.
