A person appointed as Chairperson shall hold office for a term of [three years] [Substituted by Act 43 of 2006, Section 12, for sub-Section (2) (w.e.f. 23.11.2006).] from the date on which he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of seventy years, whichever is earlier [and shall be eligible for re-appointment] [Inserted by Act No. 19 of 2019, dated 27.7.2019.].
