- The powers conferred on the State Government by the portions of the Act specified below are delegated to Excise Commissioner:

(i) Power under Section 6(2) (c) to appoint, promote and transfer, to grant leave, suspend, reduce, dismiss or otherwise punish officers of the Excise Department of and below the rank of Assistant Inspector of Excise;

(ii) Power under Section 8(1)(a) of the Act to give permission for the import of an intoxicant;

(iii) Power under Section 12 of the Act to prescribe passes for the transport of an intoxicant in excess of the limit of retail sale;
