- The mediation shall be held in the consumer mediation cell attached to the concerned Commission.
- The mediator so nominated shall conduct mediation and may hold such number of hearings as he deems fit.
- The mediation shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of nomination of the mediator, which may be extended for a further period of one month with the consent of the parties.
- Where no settlement is reached between the parties or where the mediation stands terminated, the mediator shall report the failure to the concerned Commission, and the Commission shall proceed to decide the complaint from the stage at which the complaint was referred for mediation.
